Research focus

My area of research lies within the radius of plant-insect interaction studies and the ways plant escape from the attacks posed by their herbivorous enemies. Plants use secondary metabolites to defend themselves and methanol is one such volatile released during biotic stress. My research work revolves around demonstrating that over-expressed methanol in cotton plants results in insect mortality, thus providing resistance against chewing and sap-sucking pests.
