Ferrero is a Professor of Pharmacogenetics at National University of Northwestern Buenos Aires (UNNOBA).
Her research involves basic and translational projects. One of her projects is focused on cardiac physiopathology using Drosophila melanogaster as a model of study. She has studied the effects of several substances on the cardiac performance in Drosophila melanogaster. Her current project explores the effects of cannabinoids on transgenic flies characterized as model of Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy.
The translational project is focused on the study of the MicroRNA profile of patients with chagasic cardiomyopathy. The project is carried out in collaboration with the High Complexity Hospital ¨El Cruce¨ of Florencio Varela.
