Our group is interested in understanding the mechanisms leading to congenital myopathies and mitochondrial diseases and in identifying appropriate therapeutic strategies.
We are studying the HACD genes that are involved in the synthesis of very long chain fatty acids (VLCFA) and we are investigating how VLCFAs contribute to mitochondrial membranes composition and properties.
