Research focus

Dr. Snehal Gaikwad received her Ph.D. in 2015 in cancer biology with specialization is molecular imaging and molecular chemotherapy resistance in ovarian cancer from the Advanced Center for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) institute. She joined the Center for Cancer Research, National Cancer Institute, NIH, as a postdoctoral fellow in 2016, and trained under the guidance of Dr. Beverly Mock. In Dr. Mock’s Lab, currently as a Research Fellow, Snehal has focused her research on understanding the molecular modulators of proteasome inhibitor resistance in multiple myeloma and seeking to develop combined therapeutics in the treatment of this disease through in vitro and in vivo myeloma models. Dr. Gaikwad serves as an associate editor for the Cancer Cell International Journal and is an active peer-reviewer for several biological journals.
