CS-poly(β-amino ester) was dispersed in deionized water, and a concentrated HCl aqueous solution was added until the copolymer was completely dissolved. The concentration of the polymer at the moment is 1 mg/ml. The exact pH increases of the solution was monitored with a pH meter at room temperature with a 0.2 M NaOH aqueous solution at an increment of 1-5 μL. Special attention is needed to keep stirring for more than 3 minutes after each titration. Then draw a graph based on the titration results. The pKa of the copolymer was determined as the pH at which 50% of the copolymer turns ionized.
