correction - NaCl but no glucose. Tablets are from oxoid for complement fixation test http://www.oxoid.com/UK/blue/prod_detail/prod_detail.asp?pr=BR0016&cat=&sec=1&c=UK&lang=EN

You are correct, but in our protocol the veronal buffer is made up from a barbitone tablet that already contains glucose and NaCl
