protocol Protocol: Skin Wound Healing Model - Excisional Wounding and Assessment of Lesion Area
Hello, I was wondering if the wounded site was covered with a sterile adhesive film after the excision of the skin to protect from possible infections.
If not, how did you manage to avoid possible infection on the wounded site?
Thank you.

In this model, the wounds from healthy mice are not infected in normal conditions of air exposure.

Hi,
There is no need for covering. The wounds will heal best if left open. We never had any issues with infections. Mice are caged individually of course in order to keep them from messing with each other's wounds.
