Hello Katharina,

I applied super glue to the rings to keep them attached to the skin with sutures of course and I observed the rings daily and I reattached the rings with sutures but eventually the rings fell after two days. Also whenever I apply a wound dressing the mice chew them or the dressing falls. I will try a different wound dressing and glue.

Thank you for your time!

Best regards,

Dear Racha N Daiea,

to keep the mice from chewing the sutures and the rings it is crucial to apply wound dressing (Telfa + Tegaderm). Secondly, we check on the mice every second day post-operatively and can then re-apply sutures if necessary (please see Fig. 4 of our protocol).

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Katharina Fischer
