Protocol for brain tissue sample

I am planning to use Acridine orange/Ethidium bromide double staining to visualise apoptosis in brain tissue sample. Is the procedure exactly same as in cell lines? Could you please help me with the protocol that will be more suitable for brain tissue sample?
