Do you mix HCl, HNO3 and water together for gold chloride trihydrate prearation?

protocol Protocol: 2.7.4. Synthesis of Acid chloroauric trihydrate (HAuCl4.3H2O)

Dear Sir,


When preparing gold chloride trihydrate, have we to mix HCl, HNO3 and water together and evaporate and drying.


Or have we to add water (15 liters each time when evaporate)?

You have to evaporate the acid and add water until the pH of solution is 7.0.
