Recently, I have done many western blots, and I have to reconfigure the transfer buffer every time, which is troublesome, but there will be some left each time, and I wonder if these remaining transfer buffers can be reused? If it can be reused, how many times can it be used?

Harvard University

Generally ,We configure a 500ml transfer buffer every time western blot, the reagent in which the gel and cellulose membrane have been soaked and the transfer buffer used for transfiguration will not be used again though there is surplus, but if there are unused reagents in the bottle, it can be put back to 4 ° C for preservation, and if the western blot is performed again in the short term, it can be reused, but if the placement time is long, it needs to be reconfigured when the experiment is performed again.
