What is the role of ethanol in Bradford reagent?

Ethanol in Bradford acts as a reacting functional group since the OH at the end of the ethanol/methanol can be deprotonated( the H leaves the oxygen) in either slightly acidic(+H3O) or slightly basic conditions( -OH). And once the ethanol becomes deprotonated, another compound can be added to the carbanion.
