Data collection tools

This was a self-administered questionnaire adapted from a case-scenario questionnaire used by Peck et al.³⁰ to assess the preparedness (knowledge and experience) of HCWs in order to manage hypertension and diabetes under PHC in Tanzania. This instrument has been standardised and used in another study.³¹ The case-scenario questions for chronic respiratory diseases were developed using the template by Peck et al.³⁰ This instrument collected information on the background characteristics of respondents, knowledge of HCWs regarding the prevention and control of selected NCDs, provision of NCD-related services and attendance at any in-service courses or training on common NCD management.
