Statistical analysis for glutamate uncaging experiments

Spine volume change was calculated by F/F0, in which F0 is the average spine intensity before stimulation. All values are presented as mean ± SEM unless otherwise noted. Number of independent measurements [n (spines/neurons)]. One-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s test was used to compare grouped datasets (Prism 8.3, GraphPad). Data were excluded if signs of poor cellular health or procedural artifacts (for example, dendritic blebbing and displacement of dendrites) were apparent.
