Fibronectin from human plasma (Sigma-Aldrich) was dissolved to 1 mg/mL in sterile water by placing in 37°C for 30 minutes. The soluble fibronectin was then diluted in a minimal volume of HBSS and applied to each plate at a concentration of 5 μg/cm. Plates were left to air-dry for at least 45 minutes before cells were added.
