The design of the experiment was approved by the ethics committee of the National Institute for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC). The development of the hSCARB2 knock-in mouse model has been described previously [40]. Both the hSCARB2 model and wild-type C57BL/6 mice were supplied by the Institute for Laboratory Animal Resources and were raised at the barrier facility of NIFDC.
