Two mice with an identical genotype and sex housed in different cages (unfamiliar mice) were placed in the open field arena (50 × 50 × 50 cm) with dim light (10 lux) and allowed to move freely for 10 min. These two mice had an identical genotype and were also of the same age and sex, and similar in body weight. In this test, a pair of mice was used as a sample. Images were captured at the rate of two per second with a CCD camera located above the field and time engaged in social interaction was measured.
