All mice used in this study were approved by Nationwide Children’s Hospital institutional animal care and use committee under protocol AR13-00030. All experiments performed on mice were done in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations of this committee. 11 C57BL/6J mice of approximately 1 year of age were sacrificed by ketamine/xylazine overdose and secondarily euthanized by bilateral thoracotomy and exsanguination. This study was done in compliance with ARRIVE guidelines18.
