Mice were fasted for more than 12 h before the experiment, which was performed between 14.00 to 17.00 h. GLE (80, 120 mg/kg) or chlorogenic acid, scutellarin, and Q3G (5, 10, 20 mg/kg) was administered orally, and pentobarbital (42 mg/kg) was then intraperitoneally injected 45 min later. After injection, mice were moved to individual cages, and sleep latency and duration were measured. Sleep latency time is the time from pentobarbital injection to sleep onset, and sleep duration time is the time between right reflex loss and recovery [19].
