Blood is drawn in the morning after a fasting period of at least 8 hours. The HbA1c value in the blood is measured using an ARKRAY HA-8180 automatic glycosylated hemoglobin analyzer (HA-8180) with the principle of ion-exchange high-performance liquid chromatography.
