Mice were chronically infused for 14 days with Ang II(A9525, Sigma‐Aldrich; 1.0 μg/kg per minute). Osmotic mini‐pumps (Alzet 2002) were loaded with Ang II dissolved in sterile saline and equilibrated overnight. Mice were anesthetized with 2% isoflurane, and mini‐pumps were surgically implanted subcutaneously. Control mice were infused with an equivalent volume of sterile saline. Systolic blood pressure was assessed by tail cuff plethysmography (MRBP Systems; IITC Life Science) in a dark chamber at 37°C 2 weeks after pump implantation. Mice were acclimated to the plethysmography system for 3 days before taking measurements. The average of 3 to 5 tracings was used as the systolic blood pressure value.
