The TPC and TFC were determined in the methanol extracts at the concentration of 50 mg/mL, and absorbance was measured in a microplate reader (Biotek Synergy 4). The TPC was assessed by the Folin–Ciocalteu assay and TFC was estimated by the aluminum chloride colorimetric method adapted to 96-well microplates. Results were expressed, respectively, as gallic acid equivalents (GAE) and quercetin equivalents (QE) in milligrams per gram of diet (dry weight, DW). All methods were performed as previous described [30].
