The scaffold samples (10 mg) were weighed and hermetically sealed in aluminum pans. The thermal profiles of the samples were assessed using a Perkin-Elmer DSC 7 from 10 to 60 °C with a heating rate of 5 °C min−1 under a nitrogen atmosphere (90 mL min−1). An empty sealed pan was used as the reference. The collagen denaturation temperature was calculated from the inflection point of the thermal curve. The observation of that thermal transition means the integrity of the collagen triple helix structure was preserved [30].
