The Schutte Self-Report Emotional Intelligence Test (SSEIT) is a method of measuring general Emotional Intelligence (EI), using four sub-scales: emotion perception, utilizing emotions, managing self-relevant emotions, and managing others’ emotions [49]. The SSEIT is composed of 33 items, scored on a five-point Likert scale (1 = strongly disagree to 5 = strongly agree), with higher scores reflecting higher emotional intelligence [49]. In this study, the Cronbach’s alpha for this scale was 0.967.
