Tensile strength measures the highest amount of stress a material can withstand without any deformity from its original state. PLAp-SB bio-composite film samples were cut into strips with dimensions 150mm length25mm width. The mechanical properties of bio-composite films were tested as per ASTM D882 using an Instron Mechanical Tester (Model 5564) at a 5mm/ min testing speed. The elongation at break was calculated by dividing initial to final gap multiplied by 100 before it breaks; elongation at break expressed in mm. The percentage of elongation was calculated using Eq.(3).
