C57BL/6 mice (age = 6 weeks) were maintained on a standard mouse chow, and treated with 2% DSS in drinking water to induce colitis, as well as intraperitoneal injection with EKODE (dose = 1 mg/kg/day, Cayman Chemical) or vehicle DMSO (volume = 20 μL). After 1 week, the mice were sacrificed to collect blood and colon tissues for analysis.
