The mice were underwent unilateral hindlimb ischemia surgery as described previously [14]. Simply, mice were first intraperitoneally anesthetized with pentobarbital sodium (50 mg/kg), and then, the right femoral artery was dissected along its full length. Finally, all branches were ligated and resected, and the left hindlimb remained intact and was used as the nonischemic limb.
