The cell cycle progression was evaluated using the DNA Content Detection Kit (Solarbio, Beijing, China). In short, the cells were digested and washed with trypsin (Sigma) and PBS (Sigma), respectively. Thereafter, the cells (1 × 106) were fixed with 70% pre-cooled ethanol (500 μL), followed by disposing with RNase A (100 μL) at 37°C for 30 min. Subsequently, the cells were stained with PI (400 μL) at 4°C for 30 min. Finally, the cell distribution was evaluated using a FACS (fluorescence-activated cell sorting) Calibur Flow Cytometer (Becton Dickinson) with a CellQuest software program (Becton Dickinson).
