APP/PS1 double-transgenic mice (Stock no. 34829-JAX, B6; C3-Tg (APPswe, PSEN1dE9) 85Dbo/Mmjax) were obtained from the Jackson Laboratory (Bar Harbor, ME USA). APP/PS1 double-transgenic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease (AD) that overexpress mutated forms of the genes for human amyloid precursor protein (APP) and presenilin 1 (PS1).
