After 8 weeks, the rats were anesthetized and the left sciatic nerves were exposed thoroughly. A bipolar stimulating electrode (1000 mA) was placed at the proximal site of the grafts, and a second electrode was placed on the gastrocnemius muscle (frequency of 0.2 Hz). The evoked action potential responding to the stimulus was recorded (eWAVE8D, Science Beam, Iran), and then the latency period was calculated. In each group, we averaged the measurements for six rats.
