Selectivity Index (SI) is a ratio that measures the window between cytotoxicity and anticancer activity of the drugs (26). Thus, to evaluate effectiveness of all the 4 drugs, SI has been calculated using the formula SI = CC50 of Vero cell line /IC50 of Cancer cell line, after 72 h of TMZ/AC treatment (27). Here, IC50 is the inhibition concentration for inhibiting 50% of cancer cells and CC50 is cytotoxic concentration causing death of 50% viable cells in the host. Ideally, IC50 concentration should be below CC50 concentration suggesting that cancer cells are killed before host cells.
