To investigate the mechanism of ultrasound-induced calcium rise in invasive cancer cells, PC-3 and T24/83 cells were stimulated in the presence of various pharmacological agents. We tested five different blockers, each applied separately (Table (Table1).1). Blockers were dissolved in the external buffer solution 15–30 min before performing imaging and ultrasound stimulation. Cellular responses were measured before adding the blockers, in the presence of blockers, and after washout.
