The extracts were redissolved in water at a concentration of 8 mg/mL and then diluted in the range of 400 to 6.25 µg/mL. A mouse macrophage-like cell line RAW 264.7 was used in this study, the inflammation was induced by LPS, and the Griess Reagent System (GRS) kit was applied to determine the nitric oxide, measured at 540 nm (EL × 800 microplate reader, Bio-Tek Instruments, Inc; Winooski, VT, USA), as described previously [74]. The results were expressed in IC50 values (sample concentration providing 50% of inhibition of NO production, μg/mL) and Dexamethasone (50 μM) was used as a positive control, while in negative controls, no LPS was added.
