This test was conducted by using a visual stimulation agility system to evaluate each participant’s blocking reaction capability. Random visual stimulations were provided in the form of signal lights, and the blocking total reaction times performed to touch the signals were recorded. The BAT sampling frequency was set at 1000 Hz. A computer was used for instant data display and storage22. In reference to the methods employed by Sheppard et al.23 the blocking target was placed 2.5 m away from the starting position of participants, and the blocking height was set at 90% of each participant’s personal jump height. Each participant performed a blocking move 14 times; each block was performed at 8-s intervals24.
