Skeletal muscle paraffin sections (5 μm) were collected on slides. HPS staining was performed as per standard histological protocols using formalin-fixed and paraffine-embedded muscle sections. The slides were observed using a Hamamatsu NanoZoomer (Bacus Laboratories, Chicago, IL, USA) and analyzed using the NDP.View2 analyze software.
