Four-week-old male BALB/c nude mice were purchased from Experimental Animal Center of SIBS. DLD-1 cells were injected subcutaneously in the groin or armpit into the mice to establish the CRC xenograft model (for the tumor formation assay, cells were inoculated in the groin of mice; for the 18F-FDG PET detection assay, which were repeated for two times, cells were inoculated in the groin or the armpit of mice, separately). Five days after inoculation, the mice were injected with indicated adenovirus by multipoint intratumoral injection every 2 days. The mice were sacrificed 3 weeks after the inoculation of tumor. Tumor volume (mm3) was assessed by the formula: tumor volume (mm3) = longer diameter × shorter diameter2/2.
