The Gene Ontology (GO) project (19,20) provides a controlled vocabulary to describe gene and gene product attributes in any organism (http://www.geneontology.org). GO covers three domains: Biological Process, Cellular Component and Molecular Function. Pathway analysis is a functional analysis mapping genes to Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways. The P-value (EASE-score, Fisher-P-value or Hypergeometric-P-value) denotes the significance of the KEGG pathway associated with the conditions. A CNC network of LINC00491 and coding genes (mRNAs) was constructed, and P<0.05 was considered to indicate a significant co-expression association between the two genes. The network was drawn using Cytoscape 2.8.3 (https://cytoscape.org) (21).
