The powdered plant material (250g) was extracted by continuous hot extraction process using soxhlet apparatus with petroleum ether (60–80 °C). With rota-evaporator the extract was concentrated and transferred to a pre-weighed china dish followed by drying in a vacuum dessicator. The marc obtained was air dried and further used for extraction with chloroform followed by ethyl acetate and ethanol. For further studies, the dried extracts were placed in desiccators and percentage yield was calculated.
