The AAQ-II is a 10-item scale assessing psychological flexibility in the opposition of the experiential avoidance (avoidance of thoughts, feelings, and other private events) as conceptualized by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Hayes, Strosahl, & Wilson, 1999). Items are rated on a 7-point scale (from 1 to 7). Some items are reversed (2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9). Higher scores indicate greater psychological flexibility and less experiential avoidance. We used the validated French version of the scale (Monestès, Villatte, Mouras, Loas, & Bond, 2009). In the present sample, omega (ω) for the whole scale was .86 (95% CI [.84; .88]).
