Chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by sequencing (ChIP-seq) assays were performed using p53 antibodies (Santa Cruz Biotechnology, Inc.; cat. no. sc-126) as described previously (21) with minor modifications. ChIP-seq libraries were prepared using a Nextera DNA Sample Prep kit (Illumina, Inc.) according to the manufacturer's instructions. Libraries were sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq 2500 system, generating 100 bp paired-end reads.
