Fibrosis assay cell preparation

Human small airway epithelial cells (SAEpC) (ATCC, PCS-301-010) were maintained in airway epithelial cell basal medium (ATCC) supplemented with bronchial epithelial cell growth kit (ATCC). Human primary lung fibroblasts derived from a patient with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (ATCC, CCL-134, IPF134) were cultured in fibroblast basal medium supplemented with FGM^TM-2 SingleQuots^TM pack (Lonza). In the fibrosis assay screen, SAEpC and IPF134 cells were cocultured in a 1:1 ratio in renal epithelial cell basal medium (ATCC) supplemented with renal epithelial cell growth kit (ATCC). Cells were grown at 37°C, 5% CO₂.
