Microreact22 was utilized to visualize the resultant clustering of the Mash data, as this provides an easy and fast medium to further explore the results of the analysis. To leverage the search capabilities of Microreact, we mapped metadata found for our dataset from the database PATRIC23 (downloaded on 20 June 2019). This allows the exploration of our results using a number of shared characteristics and queries such as “geographic location” or “serovar,” which, although outside the scope of the current study, could be used as a topic for future analyses to increase our understanding of E. coli species. In addition, to enable easy comparison between established phylogroup predicting methods, we have provided columns containing the results of the ClermonTyping24 method on our dataset.
