Microdissected striatal tissues were frozen on dry ice and then stored at −80 °C until analysis for dopamine, DOPAC, 3-MT, and HVA contents using HPLC. Dopamine and metabolite concentrations were analyzed at the Vanderbilt University Neurochemistry Core via high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), as described previously [36].
