Bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDM) isolation and culture

BMDM were isolated as described [31]. Briefly, bone marrow cells were flushed out from tibia and femur of mice and cultured in macrophage medium (DMEM containing 10% FBS, complemented with 50 µg/ml penicillin/streptomycin and 10 ηg/ml M-CSF) at 37 °C, 5% CO2 for 7 days to differentiate into mature macrophages.
