FAP and type I collagen quantification were performed via the following process: Images were loaded into Adobe Photoshop, and background was subtracted as follows: blue (0000FF), purple (800080), and light blue (ADD8E6). Following background subtraction, new images were loaded in Fiji ImageJ bundle and converted into 8-bit images. Thresholds for these images were set using the auto selection option in ImageJ. Last, images were analyzed using the analyze particles tool in ImageJ.
