pDFs obtained from wild-type, KI, and KO mice were plated at a density of 5.0 × 103 per well in 96-well plates in high-glucose Dulbecco’s minimum essential medium (DMEM) supplemented with 20% fetal bovine serum (FBS) and 2% penicillin/streptomycin and allowed to adhere and grow at standard incubation conditions for 24 hours. Collagen deposition was then measured using a soluble collagen assay (Cell Biolabs) following the manufacturer’s protocol.
