Apoptosis in xenograft tumors

To detect apoptotic cell death in xenograft tumors, the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay was performed using the in situ TUNEL cell apoptosis detection kit (KGA702, KeyGEN BioTECH). Slides were prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions. Three fields of each section were visualized (400× magnification). The immunosignal indices were calculated as follows: (Apoptotic cell number/total cell number) ×100.
