Liver samples were dried, weighed, and milled. Milled samples were demineralized with a 1 mol/L HCl solution. Iron concentration in liver were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometry (Hitachi A-2000, Tokyo, Japan) according to the method of Gimblet et al. [18].
