The vertical jump test was used to quantify power. We began by measuring the participant’s standing maximal reach height with his or her dominant limb followed by measuring a maximal vertical jump with the same arm reaching upward, both measured to the nearest tenth of a centimeter (Brower Vertical Jump).38 Maximum jump height was then taken as the difference between maximal height of the hand while the participant was standing and jumping. This test was completed 3 times in both the braced and the nonbraced conditions and was averaged for both conditions at each visit.
