SOD1G93A mice were intragastrically administered rofecoxib (50 mg/kg/day) by gavage. In brief, a suitable gavage needle was selected and fixed on a 1 ml syringe. The mice were then prepared via alignment of the head, neck, and body. The gavage needle was introduced into the corner of the mouth, pressed against the tongue, pushed inwardly against the upper jaw, and ultimately introduced into the esophagus. The injection volume was usually controlled to 0.1–0.2 ml/10 g. The gavage needle was removed gently after the injection.
